Chris Lake Fishing

Chris Lake Fishing In Southern Utah

Chris Lake fishing in Southern Utah is quite a challenging experience because of the nature of the lake. Because the lake is shallow, with only eight feet as its deepest spot, the lake is often weedy. This makes fishing quite difficult. The removal of the beavers in the lake and dam and the ponds nearby resulted to severe decline, which made the lake lose its ability to sustain large trout. But if you are up for the challenge, you can fly fish in this lake and take home some nice trout and large cutthroat.

Fishing in Chris Lake

  • No Guide Needed

Because the lake is rather shallow and small – only four acres – you can fish on your own. You also do not have to hire a guide to get to the lake because it is accessible via lots of trailheads. You will be able to get here and get back on the gravel road without much difficulty because there are many trails that you can follow.

  • Black Bear Sighting

Camping in this area is primitive so anglers who want to stay overnight should bring everything that they would need, including food. Cooking meals is common in this area as there are no inns and restaurants nearby. This is one of the reasons why black bear sighting is very common. But anglers need not worry since black bears often do not disturb people who are fishing in the area. Though, caution is always needed to make sure that you are safe while you are fishing and camping in this wonderful lake.
