Grass Lake Fishing

Grass Lake Fishing In Southern Utah

Grass Lake fishing in Southern Utah is quite adventurous because of the grassy shoreline, which makes shoreline fishing quite difficult. Anglers who want to fish in this area might want to fish at the center of the lake because the area is much deeper and there is not much grass that would block the cast of the anglers.

The view in the lake is also breathtaking, just like in any lake in Boulder Mountain, which makes the area being frequented by anglers. Aside from enjoying the fishing experience, anglers are also quite happy in taking in the view of the lake and its surroundings.

Grass Lake Fishing and Camping

  • Primitive Camping

Just like in most lakes in Boulder Mountain, Grass Lake doesn’t have any improved camping facilities. Therefore, anglers need to bring and use their own camping equipment if they are planning on staying overnight.

  • Stabilization of the Water Level

The water level of the lake was restored and stabilized after the area experienced a severe decline due to the eradication of beavers. Because of the great decline, the trophy brook trout that were once caught in the lake are gone. Only small fishes with large heads are often caught in Grass Lake nowadays. This is the reason why the lake is being restored.

Since the successful stabilization of the water level in the lake, trout were re-introduced and stocked regularly. Because of this, the lake is now a viable fishery where trout can be caught, though not as the same size as before.
