West Fork Reservoir Fishing

West Fork Reservoir Fishing In Southern Utah

Fishing in West Fork Reservoir would be a great experience because anglers can catch lots of large cutthroat and trout in this lake. Because of the regular stocking of Colorado River Cutthroat, the reservoir becomes a viable fishery where anglers can fish and camp.

The place is also not that hard to access because it is nearby the gravel road. Many anglers will easily see this lake, which is near King’s Pasture Reservoir.

West Fork Fishing

West Fork Reservoir fishing in Southern Utah is quite pleasant because the place is open to the public; even though the place is private property. Anglers and their families are able to fish and camp in this scenic lake because the gates on the roads that lead to this reservoir is never locked.

  • West Fork Reservoir Gates

There are a couple of gates leading to the place. They are never locked, as mentioned above, but they should remain closed so that the animals or livestock in the area won’t wander about outside the property. Anyone who will use these roads should remember to close the gate so that the animals will stay safe.

  • Constructed to Avert Water

The West Fork Reservoir was constructed to redirect water from Boulder Creek to the King’s Pasture Reservoir. That is the reason why the lake is quite close to King’s Pasture. Because of this, the water level in West Fork doesn’t go down during dry seasons.

The lake is consistently being fed by various springs, which makes the water run continuously on the reservoir. Thus, the number of cutthroat in the lake doesn’t significantly go down during dry seasons.
